ROCK
AND ROLL LEGEND FRANKIE VALLI TO PERFORM AT STABLER
ARENA AT LEHIGH UNIVERSITY FOR THE WHITEWELD FOUNDATION.
“Mother’s
Day Memories" Concert
to Benefit Camelot for Children
New
York, NY, February
14th, 2006 – One of pop
music’s most unique and beloved voices, the legendary
Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons will perform a benefit
concert this coming Mother’s Day, Sunday, May
14th, 2006 at the Stabler Arena at Lehigh University
in Bethlehem, PA. This truly special evening will be
the first of the Whiteweld Foundation’s “Mother’s
Day Memories” concerts, with all proceeds going
to the charity Camelot for Children. The concert is
co-sponsored by WKAP-AM Oldies 1470 in Allentown, PA.
Ever since “Sherry” hit
the pop music charts in 1962, Frankie Valli and the
Four Seasons
have become rock and roll icons, making the top 40
over 50 times with many number 1 hits. Their unmistakable
sound is evident on such classics as “Walk Like
a Man,” “Rag Doll,” “Let’s
Hang On,” “Can’t Take My Eyes Off
of You,” “December 1963 (Oh What a Night)” and “Grease.” With
a program rich in musical history and the electricity
of a live performance by a pop music legend, this concert
is going to be a night to remember. And with the current
Broadway smash musical Jersey Boys enjoying sell-out
crowds, plus Frankie’s upcoming eight guest appearances
on HBO’s hit series The Sopranos, the group of
one-time blue-collar boys from the wrong side of the
tracks is proving yet again that the title ‘legend’ is
well-earned.
The Whiteweld Foundation
Concert Series raises funds expressly for the benefit
of a variety of children’s
charities that focus primarily on health and educational
initiatives. This inaugural “Mother’s Day
Memories” concert will benefit Camelot for Children.
Camelot is a gathering place for seriously, chronically
and terminally ill, handicapped or disabled children,
where an environment of emotional support among these
children and their families is fostered, along with
opportunities for them to interact with each other
in a family/home setting, and where their physical
and mental abilities can be developed.
